Magic Tree House: The Knight at Dawn – Chapter 9

1️⃣ Summary

The knight dismounted his horse and helped Jack and Annie get on. Then he steered the horse toward a grove of trees where the tree house was settled. When they got near the tree house, the knight helped them dismount and rode off toward the outer wall. Jack and Annie climbed into the tree house, and Annie tried to find the Pennsylvania book. She couldn't see anything because the moon was covered by clouds, so she fumbled for the book to make the wish. Meanwhile, Jack was only half listening to Annie because he was hoping to see the knight again.

3️⃣ Short Story

In the movie Far and Away, the last scene showed people racing to get their own land. Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman joined the race on their horses. They slapped the reins, and their horses galloped through the wide fields and across the brook toward the fertile land. All the riders were rocking back and forth in the saddle as they steered their horses toward the best land. Tom Cruise brought his horse to a stop where he had already chosen, and he dismounted, holding out his dirt-covered hand to Nicole Kidman. He scrambled on the ground for his flag and then planted it in the earth. Then he kissed Nicole Kidman, and they were only half watching the others passing by.

✏️ Today's Reflection
I'm almost done with book number 2. I think I'm getting better, but it's still a little boring to make my own sentences and correct them. Fixing my mistakes is always a challenge—not just in English, but also in my habits. On the way to becoming professional, everything seems to have a tendency to overcome its own obstacles but I’ll keep going step by step.
