At that moment, Jack heard Annie's shriek and the bellowing tuba sound. He hurried to Annie and saw an Anatosaurus towering over her. Jack made her pretend to chew, and the Anatosaurus calmed down. Annie became friends with the Anatosaurus and went up to the magnolia tree on top of the hill with it, while Jack examined the nest. Jack wondered where the other Anatosaurus mothers were. At that moment, the Anatosaurus started making another tuba sound, so Jack hurried up to the top of the hill. Then he spotted the Tyrannosaurus rex in the distance.

✅ 구문 차이 설명

• Clutching vs. While clutching
  → 둘 다 맞지만, while을 붙이면 그 동작이 배경처럼 자연스럽게 깔리는 느낌이 있어요.
• Come at
  → 위협적인 느낌으로 다가오는 상황에서 자주 쓰이며, 감정이 실린 표현입니다.
• Barged
  → 밀치며 급하게 나아가는 동작을 묘사할 때 쓰이며, 감정이나 급박함이 함께 드러나는 표현이에요.

3️⃣ Short Story
When I was sitting in a restaurant in Barcelona, I saw a boy who looked a little dirty and ragged. As soon as I spotted him, he tried to take off, clutching my cellphone and wallet. I quickly stuffed them back into my bag. At that moment, the store manager came at him, and the boy crouched next to my table. The manager let out a loud, angry yell and told us that these boys lived in colonies near the bridge and sometimes secretly came into the restaurant to steal customers’ belongings. Hearing his words, the boy barged into him with full force and ran away. In the distance, we saw all of the boy’s friends running away together.

✏️ Today's Reflection
Clutching과 while clutching의 어감 차이는 지금까지 잘 인식하지 못했던 부분이었어요. 영어에서는 같은 동작을 표현할 때도 미묘한 뉘앙스가 존재하고, 그런 차이를 이해하는 게 중요하다는 걸 다시 느꼈습니다. 예전에는 이것을 구분하는게 어려웠는데 요즘에는 도구가 많아서 좋네요!
